This Directive enters into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
Abstract

This Directive is composed of 7 articles. Article 1 deals with terms and definitions. Article 2 defines requirements for the semen. Article 3 lays down requirements for bulls donators of the semen and progeny tested. Article 4 fixes sanitary requirements for bulls donators of the semen. Article 5 decrees that artificial inseminations should be carried out by a veterinary surgeon after a previous authorization from the Ministry of Agriculture. Article 6 defines requirements and conditions for the importation of the frozen semen. Article 7 contains offences and penalties.
