Abstract This Directive is composed of 32 articles. Article 1 and 2 deal with terms and definitions. All Municipality Councils shall arrange and ready municipal dog-pounds according to requirements established by the Veterinary Head (art. 3). Articles 4-9 defines measures to be taken in case of the existence of animals afflicted by rabies. Articles 10-13 specifies competencies of veterinary surgeons in case of appearance of rabies. Animal-owners shall pay the expenses during the presence of animals in dog-pounds (art. 14). Articles 16-19 define measures to be taken in case of animals afflicted by rabies wounds another animal or person. Articles 22 and 23 deal with obligations of the Municipality Councils. Article 25 prohibits to purchase or to keep a dog without a previous authorization. Article 27 regulates the presence of dogs on roads and public places. Article 32 contains offences and penalties.
