Abstract This Directive is composed of 13 articles. Article 1 and 2 deal with terms and definitions. Establishment, setting up, modernization and enlargement of olive mills should be carried out after previous authorizations from the Ministry of Agriculture (art. 3). Article 4 defines requirements and documents necessary for the establishment, setting up, modernization and enlargement of olive mills. Article 5 decrees the establishment of the Licensing Committee for Olive Mills and specifies its competencies and duties. Article 6 provides for environmental requirements and sanitary requirements of olive mills. The Minister of Agriculture shall fix the period for opening and starting of olive mills (art. 7). Article 9 decrees the keeping of equipment for the measurement of acidity in olive mills. Officers of the Licensing Committee for Olive Mills have the right to inspect and control olive mills (art. 10). Article 11 fixes licence's fees. Article 12 contains offences and penalties.
