Abstract This Directive is composed of 9 articles. Article 1 deals with terms and definitions. Article 3 decrees the establishment of the Licensing Committee for Classification and Packaging of Fresh Fruits and Vegetables. Article 4 prohibits the establishment of centres for classification and packaging of fresh fruits and vegetables before obtaining previous licences from the Minister of Agriculture. Article 5 defines technical and sanitary requirements and conditions necessary for the establishment of centres for classification and packaging of fresh fruits and vegetables. Article 6 imposes the use of suitable labels for the aforementioned centres. Standards for the exportation of consignments shall be compatible with the adopted standardization and metrology of the importer country (art. 7). Article 8 entrusts the officers of the Ministry of Agriculture to inspect, control and verify the compatibility of products with the Jordanian Standardization and Metrology.
