Abstract This Directive is composed of 9 articles. Articles 1 and 2 deal with terms and definitions. The Minister of Agriculture shall define bee families for importation and breeding in Jordan (art. 3). All activities related to apiaries, beehives, bee colonies should be authorized by the Minister of Agriculture (art. 4). Article 5 prohibits activities related to apiaries, beehives, bee colonies into the Planning Map of Amman Municipality. Bee breeders shall keep a register to facilitate the control and inspection. Article 8 prohibits the importation of bee colonies, bee queens, fecundation seeds and beeswax unless upon a previous authorization by the Ministry of Agriculture.
