This Directive enters into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
Abstract

This Directive is composed of 14 articles. Articles 1 and 2 deal with terms and definitions. Article 3 decrees the establishment of the Poultry Slaughterhouses Licensing Committee at the Ministry of Agriculture by a resolution of the Minister. Articles 4 and 5 define requirements for the establishment of poultry slaughterhouses which necessitates a previous authorization by the Ministry of Agriculture. Articles 6-8 specify technical and sanitary requirements for the establishment of a poultry slaughterhouses. The meat shall be compatible with the sanitary and technical requirements provided for in the Jordanian Standardization and Metrology related to poultry (art. 11). Article 13 contains offences and penalties. Resolution No. 1/M of 1998 is now abrogated (art. 14).
