Abstract This Directive is composed of 37 articles. Articles 1 and 2 deal with terms and definitions. Applications for the importation and exportation potatoes seeds shall be submitted to the Ministry of Agriculture (art. 3). Articles 4-7 provide for previous authorizations by the Ministry of Agriculture, adopted classes of potatoes seeds, authorized quantities as well as authorized companies and firms. Article 8 deals with certificates to be provided with potatoes seed consignments such as (sanitary certificate, post harvest certificate, monitoring and laboratory certificate, certificate of country of origin). Article 9 pertains to packaging and labelling. Article 10 specifies requirements and conditions necessary for the importation of seeds. Articles 11-16 contain the lists of diseases and epidemics which afflict potatoes seeds. The Minister of Agriculture establishes a committee for the external inspection and examination of seeds (art. 17). Articles 18-20 defines measures and steps to be carried out by the Committee in case of incompatibility of seed consignments. Articles 24-26 define requirements and conditions necessary for the production of potatoes seeds. Article 30 deals with the casual control and inspection operations by the Committee.
