Directive No. 19/1998/CT-TTg on urgent measures to combat forest fires.

The presidents of the People's Committees at all levels shall have to : (a) direct and organize all available means to prevent and combat forest fires in the areas under their respective management; (b) direct ranger, army and police forces in handling cases that may cause forest fires; (c) improve and train professional fire brigades; (d) set out regime of allowances for contractual forest protectors in communes during the dry season; (e) draft fund estimates for the prevention of forest fires.
