Abstract

This Directive, issued in accordance with article 22 of the Biosafety Proclamation, concerns the information provided by applicants in applications made to the Environmental Protection Authority of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia for the consent of the Authority of any making or use of any modified organism in teaching, research, production, import, export, transit, deliberate release, production under contained use, transport, placing on the market, or use as a pharmaceutical, as food, as feed or for processing. Information shall, among other things, refer to: the modified organism and vectors in question; the conditions of deliberate release and the receiving environment; interactions between the modified organism and the environment; and potential environmental impacts.
