Abstract

This Development Strategy of the Livestock Sub-sector 2010-2015 aims as general objectives to increase the livestock contribution to poverty reduction and national economic growth of 1.7% to 2.5% by increasing the livestock, the increase in annual production of meat by 25% (35,519 tons) milk 45% (5,000,000 litres) and eggs consumption 45% (4,988,397 dozen eggs) and reducing the prevalence and incidence of diseases transmitted by ticks in 25% of TB by 10% and Bovine Brucellosis 25% and Newcastle disease by 10% over the 5-year implementation (2090-2015).
