Abstract

This article of the Arizona Revised Statutes regulates the Department of Water Resources of Arizona. The article provides for the department’s director; scope of authority and responsibility of the department and its director; department organization; powers and duties of the director; cooperation with the secretary of the interior of the United States; evaluation of subdivision water supply; application for water report or designation of adequate water supply; exemption from adequate water supply requirements for city, town or county based on substantial capital investment; exemption from adequate water supply requirements for city, town or county based on an adequate water supply within twenty years; definition of adequate water supply; upper San Pedro water district; water provider water supply; division of state into water districts; district water superintendent; duties of superintendent; injunctive relief of injured water user; violations; classification; enforcement; fees; refunds; administrative proceedings; rehearing or review; judicial review; water resources fund, its purpose and monies held in trust; and the Arizona system conservation fund, its purpose, and report.
