Abstract

The present Act lays down provisions relating to the establishment and organization of the Department of Natural Resources. Section 5 outlines the powers, duties and functions of the Minister. They extend to and include all matters over which Parliament has jurisdiction, not already assigned by law to any other department, board or agency of the Government of Canada, relating to: a) natural resources; b) explosives; and c) technical surveys relating to any matter other than that relating to the powers, duties and functions of the Minister of the Environment and the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans applicable by law. The text consists of 10 sections.
