Abstract

This Order establishes that in order to rationalize the granting of rights over forest land for Tourism purposes, the approval of Forest Land use Agreement for Tourism Purposes (FLAgT) shall be subject to the following requirements: All related Officers are instructed to refrain from accepting and processing applications for FLAgT, unless such applications are accompanied by a Tourism Development Plan (TDP) prepared by the Local Government Unit (LGU) and duly approved by the Department of Tourism (DOT); All FLAgT applications received by Regional Offices prior to the issuance of this Memorandum Order shall be returned to their respective applicants within 15 days from issuance of this Order; Those applications endorsed to the Forest Management Bureau (FMB) and Office of the Secretary (OSEC) prior to the issuance of this Memorandum Order shall be returned to the Regional Offices within 15 days from issuance of this Order; The applicants shall also be required by the Regional Offices to submit a Comprehensive Development and Management Plan (CDMP) prior to endorsement of their applications to the Forest Management Bureau (FMB) and Office of the Secretary (OSEC). All existing and newly approved FLAgT holders shall be required to: a) submit a CDMP, for affirmation of the Secretary, within 6 months from effectivity of this Memorandum Order; b) submit a TDP within 1 year from enforcing of this Memorandum Order. Failure to comply with this requirement shall result in automatic cancellation of the FLAgT.
