Abstract This Order implements the basic policy to ensure the equitable access and sharing of rights to natural resources development and utilization. Furthermore, the DENR shall provide security of tenure to the participants through the issuance of a Socialized Industrial Forest Management Agreement (SIFMA). The objectives of SIFMA include increasing supply of wood and other forest products, accelerating reforestation and rehabilitation of the country’s open and denuded forest lands, conservation of soil, water and biodiversity, the generation of additional sources of income and livelihood and more equitable access to forest resources. The Order further provide for the areas available for SIFMA, size of the area, selection of sites, qualified and disqualified applicants, management, processing, agreement terms, government share, monitoring and evaluation.
