Abstract

This Order declares the Dugong a protected marine mammal of the Philippines. Any person who hunts, kills, wounds, possesses, transports, etc. a Dugong or Sea Cow, dead or alive shall be punished by imprisonment or with a fine as provided for in section 2. Confiscated species shall be given to research institutes as determined by the DENR. The Protected Areas and Wildlife Bureau (PAWB) shall lead the implementation of this order.
