Abstract

The Act provides for the establishment of a Board to discharge actions of water supply, sewerage and sewage disposal within the National Capital Territory of Delhi and related matters. It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Board entitled to perform the following activities: Treat, supply and distribution of water for human consumption or other purposes; Plan for, regulate and manage the exploitation of groundwater in Delhi in consultation with Centre Ground Water Authority and also give advice on this regard to the New Delhi Municipal Council; Collect, treat and dispose of sewerage and carry out works connected to sewerage, including the planning design, construction, etc.
