Abstract

This Proclamation amends the Definition of Powers and Duties of the Executive Organs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Proclamation by; adding in Article 9 under subarticle 21 " the Ministry of Environment and Forestry"; by defining functions and powers of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry; by providing that the powers and duties given to the Ministry of Agriculture, with respect to matters relating to forests, by the provisions of other laws currently in force, are given to the Ministry of Environment and Forest. The Proclamation also makes some consequential amendments and changes the designations "Ministry of Urban Development and Construction" and "Ministry of Water and Energy" appearing anywhere in the Proclamation and in other laws, currently in force, into the designations "Ministry of Urban Development, Housing and Construction" and "Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Energy", respectively.
