Subject Land & soil Keyword Institution Cadastre/land registration Legal proceedings/administrative proceedings Geographical area Africa, South Atlantic, Southern Africa Abstract These Regulations, made by the Deeds Registries Regulation Board under section 10 of the Deeds Registries Act, 1937, implement provisions of the Act relating to, among other things: the Deputy Deeds Registrar; registration of farm units; preparation of deeds and documents and qualification of persons; lodgement and execution of deeds; and other matters of procedure regarding registration of deeds. For the purpose of identifying erven, settlement holdings or lots ("allotment units"), the Registrar shall, in consultation with the Surveyor-General: (a) determine, if necessary, the limits of an area ("allotment area") in which the registration of allotment units shall be confined to a single register or set of registers.
