Entry into force on 1 January 2000 (section 2 on 1 March) and remains into force until the end of 2000.
Abstract

This Decree applies to Norwegian vessels which fish north and west of straight lines between coordinates indicated in section 1 of the Norwegian Economic Zone, and as far as fishing with cod trawlers (mesh size of nets 135 mm or 100 mm) is concerned the area outlined in section 2. Fishing for red fish is prohibited in the area outlined in section 1; however, red fish may be fished up to a maximum of 25 percent of single catches or landed catch of other fish species as bycatch. Infringement of the rules of this Decree shall be punished in accordance with section 53 of the Marine Fisheries Act of 1983. For purposes of the definition of an offence, under the present Decree, assistance to fishing and attempt to fish shall be considered as fishing. (5 sections)
