Abstract This Regulation outlines tasks, internal organization and working procedures of the Ministry of the Environment. The Ministry shall be responsible for sustainable development. In particular the Ministry shall: conserve the natural riches, production capacity and beauty of natural resources; prevent and limit damages to the environment caused by actions of men; enhance a friendly living environment, structure of society and the right use of land; protect the landscape; create the conditions for safe, healthy and economically sustainable development (sect. 1). The Finnish Environment Centre, the State Construction Fund, and the regional environment centres shall be part of the administration of the Ministry (sect. 3).
