Abstract

The Decree applies to meat of cattle, pigs, horses, poultry and reindeer that has been approved in accordance with Regulations based on the Food Act (SFS 1971:511). It provides for the quality classification and marking of meat. Classification of meat shall be carried out under responsibility of the Meat Inspection Office. Classification shall be carried out by persons appointed as meat classifiers by the State Agricultural Office (art. 1). Article 6 prohibits the sale of unclassified meat using classification denomination, whereas article 7 prohibits inappropriate marking of unclassified meat. Remaining provisions deal with charges (art. 8), registration of classification (art. 9), control (art. 10), offences (arts. 12 and 13), etc.
