The Decree enters into force on 1 March 2007.

Abstract

This Decree of the Ministry of Agriculture is composed of the following Sections: (1) Introductory provisions; (2) Programmes on inspection, notification and epizootiological examination; (3) Suspicion of avian influenza; (4) Detection of avian influenza; (5) Cleansing, disinfection and repopulation; (6) Diagnostic procedures and guidelines, and reference laboratories; (7) Vaccination; (8) Emergency plan; (9) Common, transitional and final provisions. The Decree establishes: procedures and deadlines for reporting the outbreak of avian influenza; methods to prevent the outbreak and spread of avian influenza as well as veterinary requirements to protect animals against infection; conditions for vaccinating poultry and other birds against avian influenza; guidelines on the drawing up of emergency plans to implement in case of outbreak of avian influenza; methods for the organization and functioning of national reference laboratories.
