Abstract This Decree of the Nuclear Regulatory Authority of the Slovak Republic, which is composed of 23 articles, regulates the scope and frequency of periodical, comprehensive and systematic assessment of nuclear safety of nuclear installations. These provisions relate to the assessment during operation (art. 2) and during decommissioning (art. 3). The periodic assessment of the current status of nuclear installations is the detection and evaluation of the status of selected devices and comparison of the situation found with requirements of the given project. It also includes verification whether their current state is properly documented.
