Abstract This Decree, as for the purposes of the Macedonian Law on protection and rescue operations, regulates the implementation of protection and rescue measure for fires, explosions and hazardous substances that occur within the single system for protection and rescue. Planning and preparing activities for the implementation of protection and rescue from fires, explosions and hazardous substances is carried out by the authorities of state administration, units of local self-government (and the City of Skopje), trade companies, public enterprises, institutions and services. Protection and rescue from fires, explosions and hazardous substances includes measures and activities with normative, operational, organizational, supervisory, technical, educational, and propagandistic character. The provisions of this Decree also apply to technological explosions that occur as a consequence of the use of flammable liquids and gases as well as others flammable substances that form explosive mixtures with air, as well as in case of fires and explosions in buildings where radioactive sources are used or stocked.
