Entry into force notes
This Decree enters into force on the 15th day after the day of publication in the Collection of Laws.
Abstract

This Decree of the Ministry of Agriculture, which is composed of 48 articles, establishes, in accordance with the legislation of the European Community: (a) veterinary and hygiene requirements for aquaculture animals, their breeding and protection from infections and diseases transmitted from animals to human, their marketing and import; (b) veterinary and hygiene requirements for products derived from aquaculture, as well as specific requirements for import of these products from third countries; (c) measures for the prevention and control of certain aquatic animal diseases. This Decree does not apply to: ornamental aquatic animals kept in non-commercial aquaria; (b) wild aquatic animals harvested or caught for their direct involvement in the food chain; (c) aquatic animals used for the production of fishmeal, fish feed, fish oil or similar products.
