Entry into force notes: This Decree enters into force on 8 July 1996.

Abstract: The scope of this Decree is to safeguard the food hygiene qualities of fish and fish products imported from countries outside the European Communities. Section 2 defines the application sphere of the Regulation. Section 3 concerns the importation of living fish and crayfish, for which regard shall also be had to Regulation 489/94 and Decree 59/90 both concerning the prevention of spreading of animal diseases. Section 5 concerns the importation of prepared fish and fish products from Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, whereas section 6 prescribes rules for the importation of such products from other third countries. Section 8 makes sections 5 to 7 also applicable to landing of fish products from fishing vessels from third countries. (13 sections)
