Abstract

This Decree provides rules for the new construction and comparable expansion or extensive renovation of dairy cow stables, for which has been granted financial aid granted under the Act on the structural support to agriculture (1476/2007) or Act on the Financing of Reindeer Husbandry and Nature-related Activities (45/2000). The Decree defines general requirements such as compliance with provisions of the National Building Code, the Animal Welfare Act (247/1996) and supported by the announced rules on animal welfare and environmental administration, environmental protection requirements. The Decree also specifies requirements relating to, among other things: positioning of stables; design; windows and lighting; room quarantine; food supply; etc.
