After having being properly trained and informed, communities may apply for social forest activity licence granting them the right of managing and work in the forest but not endowing them the right of ownership of the forest itself. The licenses shall be granted for a 25 years concession period and can be extended. Management activities involve selection and preparation of working areas, management, use (timber and non timber products), restoration (reforestation, land conservation, planting) protection.
