Abstract This Decree, composed of 7 articles, institutes the “Montanhas do Tumucumaque” National Park located within the States of Amapá and Pará. The aim of the Decree is to preserve the existing ecosystems, enabling the scientific research and the development of environmental activities. The Decree stipulates that the land included in the National Park shall be administered by the Brazilian Institute for Environment and Natural Resources (IBAMA).
