Abstract This Decree, composed of 6 articles, institutes the Extractive Reserve of “Cazumbá-Iracema” in the Municipalities of Sena Madureira and Manoel Urbano, Acre State. The aim of the Reserve is to assure a sustainable use and conservation for natural resources, protecting at the same time the living traditions and culture of local population. The Brazilian Institute for Environment and Natural Resources (IBAMA) shall administer the Reserve and the enclosed properties. The Reserve comprises an area of about 750.794,70 hectares.
