Abstract This Decree, composed of 3 articles, provides new borders for the the Ubajara” National Park located within the municipality of Ubajara, in the State of Ceará. The aim of the Decree is to preserve the existing ecosystems, enabling the sustainable use and conservation of renewable natural resources, the scientific research and the development of environmental activities. The Decree stipulates that the land included in the National Park pertains to the Union and, as such, shall be expropriated and administered by the Brazilian Institute for Environment and Natural Resources (IBAMA).
