The Head of BAPEDAL is directly responsible to the President and is assisted by a Deputy for Environmental Pollution Control, a Deputy for Development and a Secretariat. The Deputy for Environmental Pollution Control is responsible for preventing and remedying environmental pollution, enforcing and applying environmental quality standards, and recovering and processing dangerous and toxic material waste. The Deputy for Development is responsible for monitoring Analyses on Environmental Impact, promoting the technical capability to control pollution, developing reference laboratories, and processing data and information on environmental pollution. Each Deputy administers 3 Directorates under which there are varying numbers of Sub-Directorates which are further divided into Groups. A Sub-Department is provided to administer each Directorate. The Secretariat provides the Head with general administrative services and comprises the Administration and the Legal and Public Relations Departments which, respectively, have three and two Sub-Departments.
