Abstract

This Decree establishes the modalities of state registration and control over circulation of the sources on ionizing radiation such as nuclear materials, radioactive substances, radioactive sources and radioactive waste. It shall be mandatory for all subjects dealing with extraction, manufacturing, processing, recycling, storage, transportation (including import and export), recovery and disposal thereof, as well as for authorized state institutions in the sphere of registration and control of the sources of ionizing radiation. The purposes of registration and control shall be: (a) determination of available sources of ionizing radiation; (b) prevention of losses, unauthorized use and theft sources of ionizing radiation; and (c) access to objective and reliable information on availability and movement of the sources of ionizing radiation. The main tasks of the system of state registration and control of the sources of ionizing radiation shall be: (a) formation of the national register of the sources of ionizing radiation; (b) identification of losses, unauthorized use and theft of the sources of ionizing radiation; and (c) exchange of information within the framework of international agreements concluded by the Republic of Uzbekistan.
