Abstract

This Decree establishes hygienic requirements for potable water quality and rules for quality control of water supplied by centralized potable water supply systems. Potable water quality must conform to the present requirements. Indices for chemical composition of potable water shall be set separately for each region. Departure from the established quality standards shall be authorized in the following cases: (a) potable water supply cannot be otherwise ensured; (b) supply of potable water non complying with the established standards for a limited period of time; (c) maximum restriction of the period of time for supply of potable water non complying with the established quality standards; (d) lack of danger for human life and health in the period of supply of potable water non complying with the established water quality standards; and (e) access to information related to supply of potable water non complying with the established water quality standards. Potable water must be epidemically safe, radiation free, harmless by chemical composition and have beneficial organoleptic qualities.
