Abstract

This Decree prohibits in principal fishing for, storage on board and landing of Red King Crabs by Norwegian vessels in the 2007/2008 season east of 26° E. Article 2 allows, however, a total allowable catch for Norwegian vessels of 300.000 male crabs to be caught in a specified area. Of this amount 5000 male crabs may be caught for by non-commercial fishermen and 18.000 crabs for research purposes. Criteria for participation in Group I and Group II are specified in articles 4 to 15. Criteria concern the length of vessel, proper registration of the vessel and the owner and master of the vessel, and previous participation in the same group in 2006.
