Abstract

This Veterinary and sanitary regulation on combating African swine fever (ASF) establishes the modalities of carrying out arrangements for the prevention of the outbreak (including introduction from abroad) of African swine fever (ASF) and reduction of propagation thereof and liquidation of hotbeds thereof on the national territory. Owners of swine shall be responsible for their health, keeping and management. The owners of swine shall have the duty to: (a) carry out veterinary arrangements preventing outbreak of swine diseases; (b) put swine at the disposal of veterinary specialists for examination; (c) follow indications of veterinary specialists related to preventive arrangements for combating African swine fever (ASF); (d) inform veterinary specialists of unexpected mortality of swine or mass swine disease; and (e) isolate swine and carcasses of dead swine suspected of African swine fever (ASF).
