Keyword Pesticides Fertilizers/nutrients Registration Geographical area CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States), Eastern Europe, Europe, Europe and Central Asia Abstract The Regulation consists of 4 Sections dealing with the following matters: 1) general provisions (sect. 1); 2) the modalities of submitting and examination of the documentation for the registration of fertilizers and pesticides (sect. 2); 3) the modalities of carrying out the state testing and registration of fertilizers and pesticides (sect. 3); 4) the modalities of re-registration and termination of registration of fertilizers and pesticides (sect. 4). The present Regulation establishes the modalities of the state testing and registration of pesticides and fertilizers of the national or foreign origin for the purpose of the exposure of compliance thereof with the safety requirements as regards the impact on human health, environment, biological and economic efficiency. The requirements and the provisions of the present Regulation shall be compulsory. The registration procedure shall include: 1) acceptance of the application; 2) the state testing; 3) decision-making in conformity with the outcome of the state testing; 4) issuing of the registration certificate. The state testing shall include: 1) examination of the biological and economic efficiency and the elaboration of the modalities of the application of pesticides or fertilizers (rate of utilization or application, terms and conditions of the application, repetition factor, and the period of expectation); 2) the state hygienic regulation and registration of pesticides. The state testing shall be carried out by the authorized research institutions the list of which shall be validated by the registering authority. The applicant must submit samples of pesticides and fertilizers for testing.
