Abstract This Decree implements the International Agreement on Coffee of 2007, signed for Brazil on 19 May 2008. This Agreement, consisting of 15 Chapters and 1 Annex, establishes the National legislation to regulate the coffee sector within the territory of Brazil. It aims at strengthening the coffee global sector in the context of sustainable commercialization of the product, promoting its sustainable expansion in order to benefit all the stakeholders involved in this sector: promoting the international cooperation on coffee; participating in a forum for advices related the sector of coffee between different governments and the private sector; promoting the Members to develop a sustainable sector on coffee under the socio-economic and environmental aspects; facilitating the expansion and transparence of the international trade; collecting, disseminating and publishing research, economic, technical and scientific information related to coffee production, management and exploitation sectors; promoting the development of consumption and markets for all types of coffee, including for coffee producer countries; promoting the quality of coffee variety in order to improve the satisfaction in terms of taste and economic benefit for producers; etc. Full text Portuguese Website www.planalto.gov.br
