Abstract

The Government decrees to validate a set of measures to ensure the growth and revaluation of fresh groundwater resources and their rational use, aimed at improving the potable water supply system for the population of the Fergana Valley in the period 2017-2022, in accordance with Annex No. 1; summary parameters for the objects of construction and reconstruction of operational and observation wells in the Fergana Valley in the period 2017 - 2022 in accordance with Annex No. 2. The State Committee on Geology and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan must systematically provide for: (a) estimates of explored and officially registered groundwater freshwater resources, an assessment of the actual conditions of their operation and issuing recommendations for their improvement; (b) performance of geological exploration work aimed at the revaluation of reserves, with the issuance of recommendations for the expansion, reconstruction and rational operation of water intake facilities in areas of deposits with expired estimated reserves; (c) monitoring and assessment of the impact of pollution sources on fresh groundwater deposits and geoecological conditions of transboundary aquifers under threat of impact of mining facilities from the neighboring states.
