Abstract

The State Inspectorate for Energy Supervision of Ukraine is the central executive body whose activities are directed and coordinated by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine through the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry and which implements state policy in the field of supervision (control) in the sectors of electricity and heat supply. The main tasks of the State Inspectorate for Energy Supervision shall be as follows: (a) implementation of state policy in the field of supervision (control) in the sectors of electricity and heat supply; (b) submission to the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of proposals for ensuring the formation of state policy in the field of supervision (control) in the fields of electricity and heat supply; and (c) organization and implementation of state policy in the field of supervision (control) in the sectors of electricity and heat supply. The State Inspectorate for Energy Supervision shall perform supervision in the following areas: (a) application of legislation on matters within its competence; (b) electrical installations and networks, rules and requirements on technical exploitation of electric power plants, stations and networks ensuring reliable and safe supply of electricity to consumers; (c) training of employees; and (d) compliance with regulatory documents.
