Abstract This Decree regulates public and private water supply services in order to manage water resources, to supply potable water and to implement the National Water Policy. It consists of 4 chapters divided into 36 articles defining "water supply service"; establishing the legal framework for water supply entities; approving the statutes of new water institutions, specifying competencies, duties and conditions to be met in order to obtain a water supply licence, etc. It establishes the rights and obligations of water users, fees to be paid and quality standards to be satisfied.
