Animal keepers, premises where animals are kept and animal brokers shall be registered by the local Rural Business Office. The Decree also provides for labelling and tagging of animals for identification purposes. An animal shall be provided with an animal keeper-unique identification code before the animal is moved or transferred from the animal husbandry place where it was born. An animal imported in Finland from a Member State of the European Union retains its original marking code.
