This Decree enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Decree, consisting of 16 articles, establishes the new organization, operation and management regime of the National Institute of Fish Inspection, created by Decree No. 18/2005. It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Institute, entitled to carry out the following activities: a) issue sanitary licensing of production units and operators of processing, handling of fishery products and by-products; b) issue health certification of fishery products; c) carry out research and service programmes as a result of official controls; d) perform health control and surveillance actions.
