Abstract This Decree establishes the modalities of timber extraction in public forest in accordance with technical rules and regulations validated by the authorized state forestry institution. It classifies timber extraction by types of felling as follows: (a) main (clear) felling; (b) intermediate felling; and (c) other types of felling (sanitary felling, cleaning of debris-strewn forest, felling of undercut etc.). Allotment of plots of public forest plots for timber extraction shall be performed in accordance with regulation on allotment and inventory of felling areas validated by the authorized state forestry institution. Types and period of felling in natural habitats of wild fauna and wild flora species recorded in the Red Book of protected and endangered species shall be governed by conservation pledge agreement.
