Abstract

This Decree, issued by the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment implementing provisions of the Laws no. 127 of 2018 and 23 of 2021, provides for replacing the schedules annexed to the Laws concerning projects and the related submission of environmental impact assessment study, or information report. Projects requiring the environmental impact assessment include: crude oil refineries; thermal and nuclear power plants; facilities for production and processing of nuclear fuel producing nuclear waste; facilities for extraction and treatment of hazardous chemical substances; installations for the production of basic phytosanitary products and biocides, pharmaceutical products, explosives; waste disposal facilities; underground water pumping projects, and projects for the diversion of water resources from one hydrological basin to another; construction of dams and other facilities intended for the retention or permanent storage of water; sewage treatment plants; installations for commercial oil and natural gas extraction; laying of submarine cable, subsea pipelines and related facilities located in the territorial sea and/or in the Exclusive Economic Zone of the Republic; biofuels or bioliquids production projects; fish farms and dairy products farms with specific production capacity; projects for the use of uncultivated land or semi-natural areas for intensive agricultural crops and irrigation and drainage projects; initial afforestation and deforestation for the purpose of conversion to another type of land use; projects involving mining of minerals and quarrying activities.
