Abstract

This Decree of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry amends the Decree on animal health requirements for certain live animals, animal by-products and certain goods on the EU internal market: by repealing article 18(2); in article 19 which appoints the Finnish Food Safety Authority as the competent authority in respect of specified products; and in article 22 which allows import permts referred to in article 21 to be granted at certain conditions. They may be granted if it can be ensured that the import of the internal market of the product does not pose a risk of spreading animal diseases. The Food Safety Authority shall in the import permit provide for necessary conditions with respect to animal health. The by-products imported under the import permit shall be transported directly to the approved or registered establishment for which a permit has been granted. Import permits may be granted for maximum one year at a time.
