Abstract This Decree, consisting of 8 articles, creates with the Secretariat of Social Development, the State Commission for the Eradication of Child Labour and Protection of Adolescent Workers. The Decree establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Commission, entitled to proposing mechanisms for preventing and fighting child labour and ensuring the implementation of the National Plan of Prevention and Eradication of Child Labour and Protection of the Adolescent Worker, within the scope of the State of São Paulo, in compliance with the Programme for the Eradication of Child Labour (PETI), established by Federal Law No. 8.742 of 7 December 1993.
