Abstract This Decree approves the Regulation of the Disaster Management Fund (FGC). The FGC aims to bear the costs of the various bodies and organizations involved in the management of disasters. FGC resources are exclusively intended to finance post-disaster preparedness, response, recovery and reconstruction activities, namely: a) measures to reinforce readiness, search and rescue, distribution of support goods in post-disaster accommodation, recovery and reconstruction centres; b) programmes and projects of social action or productive assistance in the generation of seasonal temporary employment for urban and rural groups affected by emergencies; c) initiatives by local State bodies, aimed at strengthening readiness and capacity to respond and recover from disasters in local communities; and d) contracting sovereign insurance for the financial protection of the State.
