Abstract

This Decree establishes requirements for territory, constructions, edifices, equipment of the organizations carrying out slaughtering, process of slaughtering, meat processing and primary processing of leather and fur of slaughtered animals, storage and trade of the aforesaid animal products and shall be mandatory for all organizations irrespectively of the form of ownership and departmental subordination. All the slaughtering and meat-processing organizations shall be registered by the regional branch of state veterinary service and shall be recorded in the state register. Veterinary and Sanitary Regulation consists of 14 Sections: (1) general provisions; (2) territory; (3) pre-slaughtering livestock keeping facility; (4) production and auxiliary facilities; (5) accommodation space; (6) requirements for production laboratories; (7) water supply and sewerage; (8) lighting, heating, ventilation and air conditioning; (9) technological equipment; (10) technological processes; (11) personal hygiene; (12) disinsection and deratization; (13) veterinary and sanitary requirements for export of meat and meat-based products; and (14) duties and liability.
