This Decree enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Decree, consisting of 4 articles and one Annex, regulates innovative biotechnology activity by establishing the Policy of Biotechnology Development. The Policy contained in the Annex aims to establish the adequate environment for developing innovative biotechnological procedures, promoting and strengthening the national productive structure and improving exports. Priority areas are human health and livestock. This Decree also creates the National Committee of Biotechnology (specifying its composition) entitled to coordinate the implementation of the aforementioned Policy and perform any needed activity concerning development and use of biotechnology.
